The Obituary
Minister Willie “Billy” Richardson, Sr. was born on December 18, 1954, in Clarke County, AL. He is the son of Cleavor Mae Richardson Laffitte and Eddie Laffitte. Affectionately known as “Billy,” he accepted Christ as his Savior and worshipped the Lord throughout his lifetime.
Mr. Richardson is a native of Clarke County and a resident Gosport. He attended Wilson Hall High School and entered the workforce. He made an honest living and provided for his family working as a Logger. He was employed by Bush Thames Logging (Frisco City) and Whatley Timber (Whatley). He answered God’s calling for his life, and in 2004 and became an ordained Minister. Willie Richardson, Sr. was a member and the Associate Pastor of Little Rock Baptist Church in Gosport, AL. He was friendly and never met a stranger. He loved helping people, cooking, and assisting the elderly at the community Food Bank. He was an active volunteer, working as part of the Gosport Annual Family and Friends Reunion, the May-Day Fest, Vice President of the Annual Gosport Fest and People Making a Difference in the Community. He was a man of God, and Minister Richardson believed in living the word as much as he believed in delivering it.
