Mr. Warren Demetrick Stallworth was born on August 2, 1980, to Larry Stallworth and Zanetta (Watson) Stallworth in Monroe County. He was the last of four children born to this union. He confessed Christ and united with Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He was a devoted believer, loved The Word of God and encouraged others to develop their relationship with Christ.
Warren, affectionately known as “Papa Smurf”, gave love and was loved. He had a kind spirit, generous heart- giving to others, and was quick to share his smile. He was a 1998 graduate of J. F. Shields High School in Beatrice, AL where he was actively involved and excelled in all schools activities, including football, basketball and the marching band. After graduation, he began his college career at Alabama State University in Montgomery, AL and later joined the United States Air Force. Warren was proud to serve his country before receiving an Honorable Discharge and returning home.
In the evening hours of Thursday, January 23, 2020, Warren’s journey on this side of heaven came to an end, when Father God called him home. Like a quiet breeze, he was gone from those he loved, and whom loved him most. To know Warren, was to truly understand and love him.
He was preceded to Heaven by Great Grandmothers Ethel Pugh Watson and Lucy Montgomery Hawkins, Grandparents Mable and Joe Stallworth, Grandmother Callie McCastor, Grandfather Robert Montgomery, two uncles; Rayford Longmire and William Stallworth; and two aunts: Daisy Stallworth and Mary Francis Stallworth.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two loving parents: Zanetta Stallworth of Montgomery, AL, and Larry N. Stallworth, Sr. of Monroeville, AL; one brother; Larry “Shep” N. Stallworth, Jr. of Sterling, VA; two sisters: Melinda Stallworth of Montgomery, AL, and Regina Stallworth of Spring, TX; one nephew: Nathan Stallworth; six aunts, Aunt/Godparent Jacqueline (Al) Williams, Geraldine Jefferson, Mary Montgomery, Ora Lee ( Richard) Washington, Rebecca Stallworth, Carolyn Ruth Stallworth; seven uncles, Joseph (Kathy) Stallworth, Minter (Lynda) Stallworth, John C.
