The Obituary
Vivian Ann Gandy Hurst was born on July 16, 1959, in Bay Minette, AL. She was one of nine born to James Gandy and Eddie Bell (Watson) Gandy. At an early age she accepted Christ and served him throughout her lifetime. She was an active and worshiping member of The Potters House in Bay Minette, AL.
She graduated from Baldwin County High School and went on to further her education at Faulkner Community College. She worked as a Front Desk Clerk at the North Baldwin Wellness Center for many years. Vivian was caring and unselfish. IF she could help someone, she would. Being a wife and mother were the happiest part of her lifetime. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought joy to her eyes and they warmed her heart. “Vera” as was affectionately known, loved to feed her “babies.” They were showered with her attention and love.
In the evening hours of February 15, 2022, the Lord saw that it was time for her to take her rest. He quietly whispered her name. She took his hand and gently closed her eyes. She is resting now in the arms of her Savior. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: James “Butch”, Terry, Tommie and Mary.
She is survived by her devoted husband: Barry Hurst of Bay Minette, AL; four children: Quensenta (Darius) Green, Fernaldo Grant, Danny Grant, Jr. all of Bay Minette, AL, and Tyon (Taneka) Hurst of Clarksville, TN; one step daughter: Essence (Scott) Johnson of Mobile, AL; her siblings: Willie Lee (Jennie) Gandy, Willie George (Regina) Gandy, Larry (Margaret) Gandy and Barthlomeus Gandy all of Bay Minette, AL; her loving grandchildren, great grand-children, nieces, nephews and many friends, including a loving friend: Marvella Williams.
