Sgt. Tyrone Deon Preyear was born on October 14, 1979, to Lorenzo Preyear and Hazel Millender Hands. He accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Monroe Beulah Baptist Church in Drewry, Alabama, where he remained until his death.
Tyrone was a 1988 graduate of Excel High School, Excel, Alabama. He was a member of the Excel High School Football and Basketball teams. After graduation Tyrone joined the United States Army. He dedicated his heart to serving in the Army, achieving the rank of Sargent. After two tours of duty, including Operation Iraq Freedom in Iraq and Afghanistan, he was Honorably Discharged. Sgt.Tyrone D. Preyear received numerous medals and accommodations, including: Army achievement Medal, Army good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Driver and Mechanic Badge.
On March 3, 2020, Tyrone gained his wings to be with the Lord. He leaves to celebrate his life and honor his memory, a loving mother: Hazel Millender Hands of Repton, AL; his devoted father: Lorenzo Preyear of Monroeville, AL; six sisters: Tracy (Pastor Robbin) Alexander of Montgomery, AL, Adriane Preyear of Montgomery, AL, Avis (Jamar) Fondham of McDonough, GA, Zandra (Wanterius) Richardson of Newnan, GA, Paris Preyear of Newnan, GA, and Sarah (Stephen) Standard of Kassel, Germany; seven brothers: Kelvin (Sherry) Millender of Monroeville, AL; Derrick Millender of Montgomery, AL, Travis Millender of Saraland, AL, Timothy (Allison) Betts of New Orleans, LA, Jonathan (Tameka) Wesley of Detroit, MI, Antoine Love of Huntsville, AL, and Jonathan (Jennifer Pomante) Hands, Sr., of Repton, AL; a devoted aunti/second mom: Charlizine Preyear of Repton, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other loved relatives, cousins and friends.
