Sheretha Ora Nettles

Sheretha Ora Nettles was born on October 4, 1960, to Herbert Nettles, Sr. and Althelstine (Richardson) Nettles of Monroe County, AL. Sheretha was a jovial spirited person from an early age. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior and worshipped with the Amity Missionary Baptist Church.

Sheretha was educated in the public schools of Monroe County and graduated from J. F. Shields High School. She proudly served her country as a United States Army. She received an Honorable Discharge and, when her time ended with the Armed Forces, she returned home to Peterman.

Sheretha was no stranger to hard work. As a Home Health Aide, she provided tender care for patients at Monroe County Home Health for many years. She also worked in Admissions at the Monroe County Hospital and was employed with Georgia Pacific.

In the early evening hours of Sunday, August 9, 2020, at the USA Hospital, Sheretha heard her Master’s call. She quietly surrendered her earthly body and entered her soul entered a new home. She rests now, in the Savior’s arms. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband: Willie Nettles, Sr. of Monroeville, AL; two children: Sadedris Nettles and Willie Nettles, Jr., both of Peterman, AL; two sisters: Sirbrena (Thomas) McMillan of Slidell, LA and Ellen Dumas of Fayetteville, GA; three brothers: Larry (Shirley) Nettles of Pterman, AL, Herbert (Gwyn) Nettles of Beatrice, AL, and Erskine (Evelyn) Nettles of Jonesboro, GA; five grandchildren: Jaylen Huff, Jordan Nettles, Solrac Nettles, Jada Nettles, and Jody Nettles; her mother-in-law: Mattie Nettles of Monroe Station, AL; several loved in-laws: Foster (Gloria) Nettles, Jennie (Joseph) Watson, Jerome (Nancy) Nettles, Rosie Nettles, Mattie (Eddie) Denson, Donald (Janice) Nettles, and Pamela Nettles all of Monroeville, AL, Linda (James) Prevo of Beatrice, AL, and Charlie (Margaret) Nettles of Tunnel Springs, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and many friends.
