Roosevelt Pugh was born December 26, 1955, in Monroe County, AL. He was one of six children born to Roosevelt Pugh and Gracie Stallworth Williams. He accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Antioch Baptist Church.
"Short Man" as he was affectionately known, was a fun-loving man. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent his free time hunting and fishing. In his younger years, Roosevelt liked athletics and played football and baseball. He was educated in the public schools of Monroe County and graduated from J.F. Shields High School in 1974. He found gainful employment throughout his lifetime, but most enjoyed his time at Owens Hardware, working as a sales rep. Roosevelt also worked for Monroe County Jail and Monroe County Public Works.
In the early evening hours of Tuesday, August 20, he quietly succumbed to his illness. Trading labor for reward; he transitioned from earth to a place of Peace. Roosevelt was preceded in death by his parents, one brother James Curtis Pugh.
