Ola Banks Obituary

Mrs. Ola Belle Banks

Mrs. Ola Belle Banks, known to her family and friends as Belle, the Lord saw fit to call her home on Sunday, October 28, 2018. Ola Belle was the daughter born to the Union of Clyde Bowie, Sr., and Cleo Riley Bowie. During her childhood, Ola Belle accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with the St. Paul Baptist Church in the Jeddo Community near Uriah, AL.  She was an active Christian who faithfully served God wherever she was. She later moved her membership to the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Frisco City, AL. Her time at Shiloh was well spent. “Belle” simply loved the Lord. Led by her love for God, she served in many capacities, including singing in the choir, Mother of the Church, Kitchen worker and a Missionary worker. Her favorite saying was “Don’t care what I say or do, I want to do it God’s way. It will work out.” she was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #791 Love Beauty Chapel.

Mrs. Ola Belle Banks, married the love of her life, Mr. Willie Lee Banks. This union was blessed with nine children, seven sons and two daughters. Willie and Ola Belle would also help raise one other son as their own, Marshall English and gain two adopted sons: Mose Arthur Andrews and George Nicholson. Her home was always filled with joy and laughter of their children, grandchildren, and loved ones. She met no strangers and gave freely of herself. Ola Belle was a humble spirited person who enjoyed the simplicities of life. She was a true and dedicated fan of the Young and the Restless.

Her labors on earth were traded for the peace of being with the Lord, and reuniting with those that have gone on before her: her parents, her husband, Willie Lee Banks, two children: Willie Clifford and Dorothy, one grandson: Herman Lee Banks Jr., one daughter-in-law: Gloria Jean Banks and two brothers: Dempsey and Clyde.

She will forever live through the hearts of those left behind including her children: Herman, Sr.,  Earnest, Thelma (Robert Richardson), Calvin (LaTonia), Theodore (Pamela), Jimy (Rosie) Labarin (Tekeisha) Banks and Marshall (Annie Mae) English; grandchildren: Zondra (James Dickerson) Tiffany (Stecolian Brown), LaKea (Scottie English, Jr.) Theodore Tremaine, Jimmy D. (Jasmine). Ashley (Chris Roy, Sr.) JaDiah, JaDa, Jalen, And Ar’Dallas Banks; great grandchildren: Zoey Banks, Chris Roy, Jr., Harmony English, Natalie English, Keyon Tolbert, and Larry’she Davis; sister-in-law: Gladys Dean Bowie; daughter-imn-law: Ann-Nero Banks; two adopted sons: Mose (Glenda) Andrews and George Nicholson; a host of nieces, nephews, several sisters-in-law that she was especially fond of, brothers-in-law, other loved relatives and many friends.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
