Oddis (Otis) Strong
Oddis Leroy Strong was born on to Maggie Lee McDole on February 29, 1948, in Bay Minette, AL. He was a graduate of Douglasville High School. Oddis accepted Christ as his personal Savior and joined the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Bay Minette, AL.
He met and married Henrietta Black Strong. The couple shared years of happiness. Oddis proudly enlisted in the United States Merchant Marines and devoted himself to protecting and service his country. When his time of service had been fulfilled, he was granted an Honorable Discharge. He returned to Baldwin County where he resided at the time of his death.
On May 15, he traded his earthly life for a life in Heaven. He was preceded in death by his wife, mother, and siblings: James (Mary) Bryant, Charles (Tina) Pleasant, Eddie Roy Williams, Troy Young, Barry and Garry Wiley.
Oddis Leroy Strong leaves to cherish his memory, two sons: Patrick (Lynette) McWilliams of Bay Minette, AL, and Tony (Chasity) Junior of Atmore, AL; his grandchildren, siblings: Johnny (Patrece) McDole of Birmingham, AL, Johnny (Betty) Pleasant of Monroeville, AL; Wayne McDole of Mobile, AL, Lewis McDole of New York; two sisters: Earlene Kelson of Bay Minette, AL, Maxcine Hall of Massachusetts; a host of nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and friends.
