Leon Isaac Delbarrio English, Sr. was born on July 19, 1984, in Monroe County, AL. He is the son of Leymon, Jr. and Glenda English of Uriah, AL. From the moment of birth, they knew that he was a “miracle baby.” Weighing a tiny 3lbs at birth, Leon instantly drew the prayers and love of everyone. His parents nurtured and tenderly cared for him, proudly watching him grow into a husband, father and, their adult son. Loved by everyone, Leon was affectionately called “the boy” by his grandfather and   was spoiled rotten by his grandparents.

He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and worshipped with the Grove Hill Missionary Baptist Church throughout his lifetime. Leon was a Christian and lived his life, led by his Faith. He met his soul mate, Jennifer, in Uriah. The couple knew that they were destined to be joined in unity by the Lord. After graduation, they married and moved to Cantonment. They spent nineteen years together, and built a loving family and home together. Leon worked for Enterprise Car Rentals as General Manager and later became the General Manager at Drive Time. He kept a well-manicured lawn and was a husband and father who believed in his vows, providing for his family and taking care of his home. Leon named the three youngest children. Few knew, but breakfast was his favorite meal and he ate his pancakes, sausage, eggs and cheese grits with his heart. He would light up when he put on his shades, ride his four wheelers and hang out with his cousins.

Leon enjoyed athletics. He was a loud and proud “Alabama” fan, often sporting his Alabama gear. He also like the Lakers and supported them with every opportunity. He attended Faulkner University where he received his Associates of Science degree in General Studies and went on to complete his education at the University of West Florida. A member of Phi Theta Kappa (Honor Society), he graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration Management in 2008. A respected mentor, Leon was a genuine person who cared about others.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, February 14, 2021, he succumbed to God’s will. He closed his eyes, gently placed his hand in the hand of his Savior and traded his earthly battle, for rest in Heaven. Leon was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon and his grandfather, Leymon English, Sr. He leaves a lifetime of memories that will forever be cherished by his loving wife: Jennifer Neshia English, and four children: Jaterrius Blackmon, Amari English, Leon English, II and Sharon A’miya “Big Girl Chef” English all of Cantonment, FL; his parents: Leymon English, Jr. and Glenda English of Uriah, AL; one sister: Carolyn (Reginald) Hunt of Mexia, AL; his grandmother: Cora Mae English of Uriah, AL; a loving mother-in-law: Lillie (Mike) English of Uriah; father-in-law: Charles Gibbs of Monroeville, AL; five sisters-in-law: Takeasha “Dee” (Hannibal) Blackmon of Peterman, AL, Kiyana Cunningham of Uriah, AL, Mychica Cunningham of Frisco City, AL, and Charletha Fuqua of Livingston, AL; a devoted cousin: Quinton English; many loved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and friends.
