Julius “Possum” Howard Jr. was born September 27, 1965 to Julius and Rannie Howard. He was a jovial person with an infectious smile.

He was called home by our Lord and Savior on January 23, 2020. Julius was preceded in death by his mother, Rannie; his grandparents, Jack and Katherine Howard; and Sarah and Bill Green Williams and Taylor Apkins, and one sister, Margaret Gallery.

Julius was a 1983 graduate of Monroe County High school where he was a member of the band and loved to play the drums.  Julius was also a good singer. He was employed at Alabama River Mills in the Woodyard for several years and left due to an injury from a car accident. Julius was a hard worker who also knew the trade his father blessed him with as a carpet layer.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his father, Julius “Sonny" Howard of Decatur, AL; four sons Jermaine Howard of Brentwood, TN; Julius Howard III (Merced) of Yokota Base, Japan; Jordan Howard of Montgomery, AL and Javis Howard of Cleveland, TN; one brother Johnifer Howard of Monroeville, AL; five sisters, Stephanie  Howard, Adrienne (Anthony) Thomas and April Howard all of  Monroeville, AL, Jennifer (Tony) Edwards of Decatur, AL, and Patricia Kimbrough of Montgomery, AL; four grandsons, Josiah, Jace, Jaxon and Greyson Howard; special Little sisters, Stacey Huff Bohanon of San Diego, CA, Cassandra Huff of Gulfport, MS, and Haly Boothe of  Alabaster, AL; special friend, Titania Davis of Grove Hill, AL; uncles: Willie Smith of Pensacola, FL, Leslie (Earnestine) Howard of Monroeville, AL and Henry King of Stockton, CA; aunts, Mary Lewis of Sacramento, CA and Sarah (Ben) Hawkins of Moss Point, MS; one brother-in-law: Littleton Gallery, and great-aunt Helen Howard of Monroeville, AL;  host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
