was born on January 20, 1956, to Maxie Jones and Mary Louise (Hunter) Jones, in Monroe County, AL. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful servant. She united with Bright Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church and attended faithfully, with her family, throughout her lifetime. Whenever asked, she gave of herself with an unselfish heart.
“Anita,” as she was affectionately known, was a nurturing and caring person. She met and married Joe Martin and together they created a home filled with their love and two beautiful children. She was a caregiver by nature and often helped others. She enjoyed babysitting and caring for those she loved. She was not a stranger to hard work and provided for her family through honest means. She graduated from Frisco City High School and went on to work as a Sewing Machine Operator for Landlover (Medline/Williamson Dickie) in Frisco City.
She was a “fashionista” who loved to shop. She was at her happiest when she found that perfect outfit and put it on. Anita took pride in her appearance and appreciated her well-coordinated wardrobe.
In the early morning hours of Thursday, March 31st, God saw that this caregiver needed to be cared for in Heaven. He gently whispered, “Take my hand and I’ll give you rest.” She traded her earthly battles for a mansion in the sky. Her parents greeted her at Heaven’s gate. She is resting now. She was preceded in death by her parents: Maxie and Mary Louise Jones and brother, Clarence E. Frye.
