Joseph Curry was born October 28,1970 to the late Joe Lewis an Lillie Mae Peoples. He confessed Jesus Christ at an early age and attended church in Monroe County, AL, for most of his lifetime, before relocating to Knoxville, TX.  In Knoxville, he attended Overcomer Believers Church under the leadership of Pastor Darold Arnold until his death.

 

He attended Monroe County Public Schools, graduating with the spirited Class of 1990. Joseph was very involved in extracurricular activities.  Affectionately nicknamed “Bozo” by family and friends,  Joseph was a noted All-American athlete, recognized for his outstanding abilities. Joseph was united in Holy Matrimony to Sundra Lynn Curry. This union was blessed with three loving children. He was a member of the Monroeville Police Department for several years before relocating to Tennessee. There, he was employed at the Knoxville Area Transit, and an Uber Travel driver.

 

He was an avid “Alabama” fan and rooted the Crimson Tide Football team at every opportunity. “Bozo” proudly sported his team attire and openly boasted their record and standings. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife: Sundra Lynn Curry of Knoxville, AL; children: Joseph Darell Curry of Murfreesboro, TN, Amberia Cherelle (Brandon) Allison of Greensboro, SC and Austin Lavon Curry of Knoxville, TN; one god-daughter: Shekirria McAllister also of Knoxville, TN; four grandchildren Jarell, Camille, TyAzia, and Jhaemoni; a grand-dog named "BAMA". 

 

His life will be forever cherished in the lives of his two brothers Will (Monica) Curry of San Antonio, TX and Santez (Sabrina) Peoples of Monroeville, AL; four nieces Teia,Reagan,Ryan,and JaAngel, an one nephew Quinterrious (Buck). two sister-in-law: Felecia (Richard) Lett of Monroeville, AL, and Sharon (Marco) Stallworth of Knoxville, TN; two brother-in-law: Timothy Broughton of Pensacola, FL., and Tony Parker of Montgomery, AL; his attentive aunt and uncle: Belinda and Albert Miller of Jonesboro, AK; his god-father: Robert Joseph (Cathy) Allen of Athens, TN; a best friend/brother:  Darren (Raven) Gibbs of McDonough, GA; two co-workers/friends: Michael Andrews, and James (Kathy) Dailey of Knoxville, TN; special friends: Shetara (Richard) Weaver, Earnestine Rivers all of Knoxville, TN; a host of other loved relatives, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, many devoted classmates and friends.
