Jannie Belle Nettles was born on February 2, 1928, to Andrew McMillian and Malkus Everlene Henderson Nettles, in Monroe County, AL. Jannie was one of several siblings. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and served him faithfully throughout her lifetime.
She attended Rosenwald School in Monroe County. Jannie was a hard-working woman with a selfless spirit. She worked most of her life, attentively, as a private duty, in home Caregiver. She was a member of Apostle Faith Church of God in Ft. Pierce, FL, where she was actively on the Mother’s Board and the Kitchen committee. She entered the Sanctity of Holy Matrimony with Andrew Nettles, Sr., and their loving union brought about the loving bond of nine children.
On Friday, December 6, 2019, the Angels of Heaven gently gave her wings and she slipped away peacefully. She was preceded in death by her parents, three daughters: Ethel Mae Alexander, Robert Earl Wiggins, And Andrew Nettles, Jr., several siblings: Armiller, Georgia Mae, Tency, Luman, Andrew, Lieutenant and Johnny D.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three loving daughters: Joyce Nicholson of Pensacola, FL, Georgia Dunson also of Pensacola, FL, and Alice (Willie B.) Smith of Ft. Pierce, FL; four step-sons: Robert Nettles, Pastor Jimmy (Patricia) Nettles, and Willie Nettles all of Ft. Pierce, FL, and Leroy (Christine) Nettles of Statesboro, GA; one brother: Thomas McMillian of Monroeville, AL; two sisters: Katie (Alvin, Jr.) Brown of Monroeville, AL and Everline Smith also of Monroeville, AL; two special grandchildren: Joyce Leggett and Willie Anderson, Jr., two other loved grandchildren, many grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and friends.
