Crystal Denise Johnson was born on November 18, 1981, in Foley, AL, to Alvin Johnson, Jr. and Lyler Johnson. She was one of five children born to this union. Crystal was educated in the Baldwin County Public Schools and attended Foley High School. She accepted Christ at an early age and attended church with her family.
After completion of her education, she enlisted in the Unites States Army, where she completed her academic studies. Crystal served her country, faithfully for three years, as an Automated Logistical Specialist 2, before receiving an Honorable Discharge and returning home to Baldwin County. She later relocated to Maryland, where she employed as a manager for Walmart Stores. She worked there until health challenges made working difficult.
Crystal was “spicy” and she and worked hard for what she wanted. She didn’t mind being outspoken. She was a generous person who helped others whenever she saw a need. Crystal was loved and respected by many.
In the early morning hours of Saturday, February 8, 2020, she succumbed to her health challenges. She quietly took the Masters hand and transitioned from this earthly home, to a mansion in the sky. She was preceded by her grandparents: Myra and Jamon Lamar and Alvin Johnson, Sr.
She is survived by her two sons: Yahmil Mason and Dylan Mason both of Foley, AL; her parents Alvin Johnson, Jr. of Manassas, VA and Lyler (Felix) Heard of Foley, AL; four sisters: Patasha (Leo) Bringle of South Haven, MS, Sonya (Johnathan) Davis of Manassas, VA, Tiffany Lopez of Mobile, AL, and Raven (John) Carson of Titusville, FL; her grandmother: Bessie Johnson of Foley, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other loved relatives, a devoted friend: Kristie Goldman; and many friends.
