Charles Earl Kidd was born on January 17, 1945, to George Kidd and Vastye Abney Kidd. He was one of several siblings, raised in Monroe County, Alabama. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in the Clausell Community of Monroeville, Alabama.

“Kiddo” as he was affectionately known, loved people. He found so much joy in laughing and talking with family and friends. Charles worked as a Heavy Machine Operator at Georgia Pacific for several years and later went on to work at Temple Inland. He married Ida Mae Rivers and they lived and raised a family in Monroeville.

In the afternoon hours of Sunday, March 15, 2020, “Kiddo” quietly slipped away from this earthly place. He bid no one a farewell, when he took the Master’s hand. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings: Annie Ruth McArthur, Billy Joe Kidd and Willie George Kidd.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving daughter and two devoted sons: Yolanda Geneva Lewis of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Ronnie Selester Kidd (Latoya) Kidd of Monroeville, Alabama, and Charles “Chuck” Sylvester Kidd also of Monroeville, Alabama; three sisters: Gerald Ann Williams of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Vynonia (Maurice) Betts of Orlando, Florida, and Jacqueline Paulette Kidd also of Orlando, Florida; one brother: Windell Kidd of Lawrenceville, GA; his former wife and longtime friend: Ida Mae Kidd of Monroeville, Alabama; eleven grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other loved relatives, a community of treasured friendships, co workers and  friends.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
