Cedric Levan Banks was born on December 5, 1968, to the late Henry Banks, Jr. and Lizzie Rea Andrews of Monroe County, AL. He was one of twelve children born to this loving union. A kind spirited man, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and worshiped his Savior in whatever capacity needed. He loved the Lord and never hesitated to live the life of a generous and caring Christian. Cedric was a member of Coastal Church in Bay Minette, AL. He was a graduate of Frisco City High School. As a “Whippet”, Cedric was well known. He had many friends and his spirit of laughter carried him through his academic years with ease. After graduation, he married Pamela Burroughs and the couple made their home in Baldwin County, AL. Their loving and precious union brought about the love of two daughters. A happy home was made and they flourished in their environment.
Cedric owned and operated several small businesses, Ced’s Towing, Ced’s Auto Sales, and Cannonball Inflatables. He was most notably respected for his professional duties as the owner of Ced’s Towing. He served Baldwin County well.
Cedric enjoyed riding his “Hawg”. It was nothing to see him “jamming” to the music on his Harley motorcycle or coming through the city in his big red tow truck. He enjoyed life and life enjoyed him. He was a hard-working provider and kept something honest in the works. Cedric didn’t mind investing his talents into making life better for his family. He was kind and often went above and beyond for his family, friends and customers.
In the late evening hours of Saturday, January 16, 2021, in the Emergency Room of North Baldwin Hospital, Bay Minette, AL, Cedric Banks traded his earthly labor for reward. He earned his wings and entered the gates of Heaven to be with his Savior. Cedric was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lizzie Banks, two sisters: Mary and Edna Lois Harris and one brother: Henry Douglas Banks.
Many will mourn his passing and his memory will live on in his wife: Pamela Burroughs Banks of Bay Minette, AL; two children: Brittaney Burroughs Banks and Brasia Cierra Banks both of Bay Minette, AL; four brothers: Elder Bobby Lewis (Linda) Banks of Robertsdale, AL, Elder Patrick “Andrew” (Alberta) Banks of Monroeville, AL, Lester Lee Banks and Rev. Matthew (Geraldine) Davis both of Frisco City, AL; five sisters: Ophia Rea (Rodney) Hamilton of Frisco City, AL, Suzzette (Pilot) Williams of Fountain, AL, Belinda Johnson and Lillie Rene Mims both of Frisco City, AL and Katrina Felicia Thames of Atmore, AL; two grandchildren: Cannon Jymetrice Banks and Titan Jaye Fields both of Bay Minette, AL; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Ben and Floretta Burroughs both of Frisco City, AL; two sisters-in-law; Synethia Rena Burroughs and Latricia Latrail Burroughs both of Frisco City, AL; two god daughters: Breunna Adebanjo of Columbus, OH and Khloe Lawrence of Bay Minette, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and many friends.
