Arthur Lee Brandon
Angels have whispered his name and Heaven has gained an angel
Arthur Lee Brandon was born on August 1, 1948, to the late Isaac and Lela Brandon. Arthur was a native of Monroe County, AL, and lived all his life in the Monroe County area. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Mary Alice Brandon on February 7, 1970 and with this union became beloved father of seven children.
“Dick”, as he was affectionately known, was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed being busy with his hands; cutting grass, wood working and manual labor brought him a sense of peace. He didn’t mind hard work and prided himself on his talents and abilities with wood. He had a skill for auto mechanic work, loved fishing and the simple things in life brought him peace. Arthur Brandon was an Alabama Fan and supported his team with a hearty spirit.
He worked at Goodyear Tire Services and Harrigan Lumber Company and Jackson Cabinet Shop. He was a member of the Limestone Faulk A.M.E. Zion Church in Drewry, AL.
As God’s will was done, he departed this life on the same day that he wed his wife, February 7th. Their lives have come full circle and now they’ve been reunited in Heaven. He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter, two sons, his parents, one brother and two sisters.
He leaves to cherish his memories, two sons: Arthur James Brandon, Jr., of Birmingham, AL, and Shaun Brandon of Excel, AL; two daughters: April Brandon of Excel, AL, and Katrice Smith of Birmingham, AL; five grandchildren: Arkayla Brandon, Keonte Brandon, Kendrick Richardson, Jasmine Canlas all of Excel, AL, and Regan Smith of Riverside, CA; one sister: Daisy Harris of Elizabeth, NJ; mother-in-law: Mary Lee Brown of Excel, AL; three faithful sisters-in-law: Lewery Anderson of Excel, AL, Loretta Coston of Frisco City, AL, and Janice Stallworth of Evergreen, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, other loved relatives and many friends.
