Rosher "Rochelle" Evans
"Dobe"
Rosher (Rochelle) Evans was born on March 9, 1945, to Barney Evans and Laura Shoemo Evans in Monroe County, AL. He was one of several siblings. Rosher, called by Rochelle most of his life, was a hard working person. He accepted Christ at an early age and served him throughout his lifetime. He became a member of the Mt. Triumph Baptist Church in Uriah and worshipped there through his early years. During his lifetime, he maintained gainful employment in an effort to provide for his family.
He met and married Lula Kemp. Their union brought about the love and upbringing of thirteen children. He was educated at Union High School and learned at an early age, the benefit of hard work. He was a loving husband and father. Rosher enjoyed the simplicities of life; watching old Westerns on television and spending time with his children. Rosher didn’t mind speaking his mind and rarely hesitated to tell the truth, whether it was solicited or not.
He found enjoyment in cooking and yardwork. Rosher worked for many years at the Vanity Fair Golf and Tennis Club as the Grounds Keeper. Rosher loved his job and the people he had the opportunity to meet while working.
In the afternoon hours of Friday, June 8, 2018, He traded his earthly woes in for a place at the feet of the Savior.
