Johnnie Richardson Obituary

Johnnie Richardson

Johnnie Mae Richardson was born on November 15, 1944, in Mobile, AL. She was one of eleven children born to the loving union of John B. Ikner, Sr., and Beather Mims Ikner of Monroe County, AL.

“Auntie,” as she was affectionately called, was loved by everyone. She was known throughout the community for her caring spirit. Johnnie grew up in Mobile County and was educated in the public schools system. A Christian in the truest form, she loved the Lord and lived her life serving Him. She was a faithful member of the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist church who believed in paying tithes and serving in whatever capacity the Lord saw fit.

She met and married, Sam Richardson. When her mother passed, she became the caregiver for her siblings. She was strong, sweet, and loving. During the holidays, she received family and friends with joyful heart. Whatever the occasion, “Auntie” was there to lead the celebration and support the cause. If it were athletic events, programs, youth activities with nieces and nephews or road trips with her family, she never missed an opportunity to surround herself with their love.

On Sunday, November 11, 2018, God saw that her earthly frame could no longer hold her beautiful spirit. He stretched out his Almighty hands and received her into His Kingdom. She transitioned into God’s arms and took her rest. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late John Benjiman Ikner, Sr., and late Beather Mims Ikner.

She leaves to cherish her memories seven sisters: Minster Minnie (Elder James) Bolar, Marlow AL, Georgia Rudolph, Gloria (Willie) McMillian, Claudette (Zerona) Steele, and Elder Ada Ikner, all of Loxley, AL, Flora Ikner and April Ikner, both of Robertsdale, AL, three brothers: Rev. John (Sarah) Ikner, Jesse Lee Ikner, and Johnny Ikner, all of Loxley, AL. Auntie leaves nineteen nieces and nephews who shared everlasting memories: Alfreda, Elizabeth, Catrener, Stacy, Quenitta, Johnny (Danielle),Alfred, Erica, Kanundra, Timothy, Alkeem, Byron (De’nika), Marketa, Brittany, Phillip, Regina(Bryan),Antonio, Kema and four devoted and loyal nieces and nephews Carrie(Darryl), Laquita, Fallon, Krystal, & Demarkest   (Sadiyyah).
