Gwendolyn Harrison Pugh

MS. GWENDOLYN HARRISON PUGH

Gwendolyn Pugh was born on October 14, 1954 in Pascagoula, MS to the late Herston and Vonscile Harrison. She departed this life and stepped over into glory on Sunday, July 8, 2018 in Atlanta, GA. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Lela Bradley, and two brothers Joseph and Mearl Harrison.

Gwendolyn moved to Monroeville, AL with three small children anticipating a fresh start. She found work at Vanity Fair Mills where she worked for over 20 years as a dedicated and loyal sewing machine operator, until they closed the doors and moved overseas. After that she worked a few years at Stayfast, another textile industry and then moved onto Wind Creek Casino. She later retired to keep her ailing mother.

She leaves to cherish her life: four loving and grateful children: Carlos Harrison of Mobile, AL, Shalunda Harrison of Stone Mountain, GA, Quawanda Pugh of Moss Point, MS, and Yuntrill Pugh (Travis) of Snellville, GA; eight warming grandchildren: NaDarriun Nettles of Beatrice, AL, Jarvis Harrison of Monroeville, AL, Jocelyn Harrison, and Justice Nolan both of Stone Mountain, GA,  Carlos Richardson of Pascagoula, MS, VyKeeria Pugh, Ja’Corion Richardson and A’Javis Richardson all of Snellville, GA; eight busy great grand children: Cameron Nettles, Maison Kyles, Nevaeah Sanchez, Javoris Harrison Jr, Preston Walker, Dakota Walker, Julian Walker; ten gracious siblings: Willie A. (Tawanna) Harrison of Mobile, AL, Jeffery Harrison, Vera Stallworth and Cedric (Verlisa) Harrison all of Moss Point, MS, Gloria (Jimmy) Coleman, Jeannie Harrison, Warren Harrison, Carlton Harrison, Stanford Harrison all of Monroeville, AL, Shelia (Louis) Booker of Pascagoula, MS; a devoted niece: NyKitha (William) Simpson; a devoted and dear friend Ms. Barbara Lett; Dr. Cynthia M. Kamasa-Quashie a lifetime friend and; a host of loving and caring nieces, nephews, and cousins.
