To The Marshall Family ,Cedric Marshall , many of you do not know me and I do not expect y’all to ! Many years ago 1987 to 1991 I had the pleasure of working with Cedric at Bills Dollar Store in Monroeville and that was how I got to meet and know your mother ! A very fine Christian Lady to whom I grew to count on for Prayers and support ! She was the one I called first when my dad died in 1989 suddenly on my husband and my 13 Anniversary , before I called my store people ! I ask her why did he do that to me and she said I don’t know but God had a reason and we are not suppose to ask why ! So I let it go for then and it was only a month later when I found out why ! My daddy came out of the air force as top Sargent and became an alcoholic he was brutal to me and my mama and when he went to get help he begged her to stay with him he would never hurt her again ! So on Oct 14 my mother was in the hospital in Camden and dad went up to stay with her til the end ! He wrote her a letter while he sitting with her and told her how much he loved her and how sorry he was and just don’t go yet he has a lot to make up for ! And he had ask God to take him first because he wanted her to enjoy some of the fruits of his labor and have a better life than being a Military wife and always afraid to spend money and have anything at all ! He had been sober for eight years and had really tried to give her a wonderful life without stress and worry but she was still scared ! The Dr,s had told us this time she would not leave the hospital with COPD ! It had progressed badly ! He gave us no hope ! And God had his own plans for my family , both of my brothers had there family’s before dad got sober but I did not have mine till afterwards and I’m so glad he did cause my dad loved his grandsons and his family ! Anyway the next day was my mamas birthday and she started coming around and the first think
She ask for was a pineapple upside down cake for her birthday ( my dads favorite ) so I made it carried each of them a piece and took a few bites of hers and he had eaten all of his and he ask for hers and while he was eating it he ask her tie a drink if her tea and he handed back to her and it fell on top of her along with him , he was having a stroke and she called nurses station they came hit him and a nurse gave her a shot to knock her out he went to ICU and she died the next morning after her birthday on our anniversary! He kep his promise to her in alotbof ways ! She did get to enjoy the fruits of his labor she lived 11 more years and gave all her little money away anyone needing tires or a car or have it to give to a perfect stranger , but she gave me the gift of life again , she helped me get my hair buisness started back up in my front yard and worked with me till the end ! Your mother was a blessing to me even long after I lost my job and came home !
Sorry this is so late but I just found the obit ! God Bless you all ! Cedric call me sometime ! Tawny Bohannon (aunttawntawn@yahoo.com
