Elaine Lamar Obituary

Miss Elaine Lamar

Ms. Elaine Lamar was born on May 25, 1960 to Willie Lamar and Dorothy Prim Lamar in Foley, AL. She was one of eight children born to their union. Elaine was a loving and kind person. Her gentle spirit was well-received by all who were blessed to know her.

She attended Foley High School but left school early to join the work force. For many years, she worked at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Housekeeping. Her colleagues loved her and her Administrators appreciated her.

Elaine’s heart was larger than most. She was the type of person that others were drawn to. Her heart was made glad with the love of her children and especially the joy of her grandchildren. She was an avid ALABAMA fan! She had no problem rooting her team on, both in, and out of season. Elaine’s favorite pass-time was going to yard sales and finding that special “something” that others may have missed or looked over. She was generous with her time, and patient with her heart. Every child in the community was welcomed into her home and in her heart.

On June 23, 2018, after a brief battle with sickness, the Lord saw fit to call her from labor to reward. He whispered her name and she joined the Angels in Heaven. She left behind the woes of this earthly world and took her rest, leaving behind many to cherish her memories. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Larry Lamar.

Her memory will forever be held in the hearts of her four children: Tamica Lamar, Brandon Lamar, Timothy Lamar and Carlton Lamar all of Foley, AL; her loving companion:  Carlton Autry of Foley, AL; one brother: Elijah Lamar of Foley, AL; five sisters: Barbara Lamar, Margaret Carmichael, Janice Freddie, Sr.,) Pace, Mary Lamar, Penny Lamar and Sandra Bell all of Foley, AL; four loved grandchildren: Thaddius “Tre” Williams, Gabriella Lamar, Grayson Lamar and Braylen Lamar; a host of nieces and nephews, one two god-daughters: LaTonya Lamar and Kimberely Phillips; one special friend: Margaret Shepherd; cousins, aunts, uncles, other loved relatives, and many friends.
