Dorothy Kyles Obituary

Dorothy Clausell Kyles

Dorothy Clausell Kyles was born on December 18, 1930, to the late William Clausell and Gussie Parker Clausell in Monroe County, AL. She was one of eight children born to this loving union. Dorothy was a Christian. She believed and accepted that her Salvation was incumbent on God’s Grace and Mercy.  She united with the Bethel Baptist Church in the Clausell Community of Monroeville.  As an active member of the church’s Missionary Circle and as an Usher, she served her church for many years. She served God for a lifetime.

She met and married, Lee Daniel Kyles . Their union brought about the love, laughter and lives of four children. Together they filled their home with cherished moments and happy times. Dorothy helped provide for her family by working in the Public School system. As a cafeteria worker at Monroeville Elementary School, she earned the beloved reputation of “feeding er’body child.” She was a loving person who met no strangers. She and L.D. were committed parents who never held their children up in their wrongs; if they were wrong, they were wrong.  Her sweet sense of humor was a special trait, but her unselfish love and concern for almost anyone she met, was her best quality.

In the early morning hours of Saturday, September 15, 2018, she succumb to her infirmaries. God cleared a space in Heaven’s garden and beckoned her to come Home. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Samuel “S.T.” Thomas, Sylvester, Wymus, William “W.J.” Jeff,  She could not stay one more day, as preparations had already been made for her journey. As she entered into God’s kingdom, she heard the Angels singing “Happy Birthday” to her beloved, L. D. Now, they are together again.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory, five children: Lee Daniel “Smokey” Kyles, Jr., Danny (Mary) Kyles both of Monroeville, AL, William (Evelyn) Kyles of Tucker, GA, Brenda Kyles of Stone Mountain, GA and Debbie Stallworth of Pensacola, FL; two brothers: Jimmy Clausell of Las Vegas, NV, and Frank (Martha) Clausell of Milton, FL; one sister: Mary Ruth Holloway of Detroit, MI; five grandchildren: Tim (Rochelle) Salter, Derrick Rivers, Jarrett Kyles, LeDaniel Kyles, and Malaysia Salter; six great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and many devoted friends.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
