Curtis Lee Bryant

"Dry your eyes, I am gone Home to be with my Savior"

Curtis Lee Bryant, a native of Stockton, Alabama was born to the late Cornelious, Sr. and Irene Bryant on February 23, 1960.  Curtis graduated in 1978 from Baldwin County High School in Bay Minette, Alabama. He was married to the love of his life, Mary (Deloris) Bryant on March 28, 1992.  The two shared twenty-six years of precious life together.

Curtis began his Christian life at an early age as a member of Zion Fountain A.M.E. church in Stockton, Alabama.  Later in life he united with Union Missionary Baptist Church in Stockton, Alabama under the leadership and spiritual guidance of Pastor Clifford Spencer.  He was faithful and a devoted member on the Board of Trustees and served as the president of the male chorus.  Curtis’s favorite song in church was “It’s Alright, It’s OK” by Shirley Caesar.  Curtis was employed for many years with North Baldwin Infirmary as an orderly and William F. Green State Veterans Home as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

Family and friends will remember Curtis most for his time playing softball with A.M.E. Zion Church softball team, his unique decorating skills, the community parties that he hosted, or the song he wrote and often sang with his children “O My Glory!” Curtis was very active in the community where he worked as a volunteer for the North Baldwin Senior Center in Stockton, Alabama, served on the North Baldwin Sports Association and the Stockton Christmas parade committee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelious, Sr. and Irene Bryant; one brother, Cornelius “Gechee” Bryant, Jr.; three sisters: Mary Ann Bryant, Geraldine Evans and Cinderella “Cindy” Bryant-Brooks, and a nephew, Byron KeShaun Washington.
