Carling "Carlos" Snell
"Shaq"
Carling “Carlos” Snell was born on November 12, 1975, to Henry Snell and Delois Williams Snell in Clarke County, AL. He is one of four children born to this union.
A lifelong resident of Monroe County, he was reared and educated in the Frisco City area. A proud Whippet, he attended and graduated from Frisco City High School, where he was a standout football player. Loved many, Carlos had an infectious spirit; making people laugh with just a few words. Kind, sensitive and caring to those he held close at heart. He didn’t mind playing practical jokes on some and arguing the skills of his favorite player, LaBron James, with others.
A die hard Auburn fan, Carlos rarely missed an opportunity to support his team. Whether it was on television, in the stands, or simply wearing the colors, the Auburn Tigers were a large part of his life.
He worked Construction for Julius Lambert and also helped out at his father’s shop, James Towing. “Shaq” as he was most often called, liked sports and was especially drawn to playing basketball. Carlos was an avid race car fan who liked to “tinker” around with his dad’s fast cars. Whenever possible, he would climb behind the wheel and give one of Henry James’ cars a quick run. He like to hunt in his spare time, but his heart was truly in riding horses.
In the early morning hours of Sunday, June 10, 2018, his fun-loving spirit was tragically taken from those who knew and loved him. In a blink of the eye, he was gone from those who held him in their hearts. He is survived by his parents: Henry (Patricia) Snell and DeLois Snell all of Frisco City, AL; three loved children, two sons and one daughter: Dynasti Snell of Excel, AL, Carling “CJ” Snell and Isaiah Snell of Houston, TX; two caring sisters: Pamela Snell and Allison Snell both of Birmingham, AL; many other loved relatives, and many, many friends to forever remember him.
