Mr. Bob Crawford

Mr. Bob Crawford (87) died last week at the Monroe County Hospital.

He worked at J. F. Shields for more than 15 years, teaching history, Social Studies and as the Band Director. He was a graduate of Alabama State University where he was a proud “Marching Hornet”. He was a Commercial Truck Driver for North American Van Lines in Ft. Wayne, IN and Evergreen Transport in Evergreen, AL. Bob was a member of Phi Beta Sigma and a member of the Masonic Lodge #247 of Beatrice, AL. Mr. Crawford served his country in the United States Army where he was a respected Corporal.

He is the son of the late Bob Crawford, Sr. and Georgia Bradley Crawford. He leaves to cherish his memory, a wife: Jessie Crawford of Beatrice, AL; three daughters; Debbie Porter and Amelda “Joy” (Terrell) Washington of Mobile, AL; and Jessietta (Kurt) Crawford Thomas of Montgomery, AL; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren.
