Billy McClain Obituary

Billy Ray McClain

"Big Daddy Kane"

Billy Ray McClain was born on July 4, 1954, to the late Nettie King and David Blackmon of Florida. He peacefully departed this life on February 7, 2019, at his residence, surrounded by those who loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; one child: Billy Ray Knight; eight brothers:  Eddie James King, Willie B. King, David King, Jerry Lee McClain, George King, Jr., David Blackmon, George Earl Blackmon;  three sisters: Rosie King, Teresa King; two step sisters: Hazel Mae Richardson and Susan Ann “Tweetie”  Bullard.

Billy Ray was raised by his step-father, George Dewitt King as a native of Monroe County, AL. He met his wife, Patricia Hill, in 1999, in Frisco City, AL, and the two of them accepted the love that filled their hearts. While Billy had no specific church home, he knew the Lord. Billy was disabled and working was limited. He worked for the City of Monroeville and, for many years, he worked for Studio 205 Advertising as a Crew Leader.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted wife, Patricia Hill of Monroeville, AL; seven children: Gary (Paula) Knight, Billy Ray McClain Jr., Joyce Knight, Erica (Benjamin) Smith, Brenda (Albert) Bullard, Kasha “Monae” Rankins all of Monroeville, AL and Shameka (Corey) Clanton of Frisco City, AL; one step-son: JaQuan Hill of Montgomery, AL; his sister: Brenda King of Monroeville, AL; three brothers: Mark Blackmon of Pensacola, FL, Tim Blackmon of Florida and James Blackmon of Texas; five step sisters: Laura Ann King, Jackie Bullard, Dorothy Bullard, Mary Bullard, Annette Bullard all of Monroeville, AL; one step-brother: Donnie Bullard of Monroeville, AL; thirteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, devoted friends and “part’ners”: Derek Lee, Steven Knight, Tom Davis (boss), Cleo Lee, Willie Jackson, Dorothy Rankins, Juanita Lee, Mae Bell Laffitte and Sharon Young; a host of nieces, nephews, many other cherished friends and loved relatives.

He has transitioned from the woes of this earthly world and now rests in comfort and peace in Heaven.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
